The Monarch

I hate bugs of any kind, so I don’t understand my current obsession with caterpillars.

The Monarch is named after the Danaus plexippus, otherwise known as the monarch butterfly, from which I had the reference for the butterfly wing design.

This caterpillar craze started from when I did a drawing study of them a couple of weeks ago

which evolved into a painting during an artjam sessions with Mahlstik

which then metamorphosed into an infinitely long caterpillar (which is still a work in progress)
